There is something about fall that makes us want to slow down. The crisp air, cozy layers, leaves crunching beneath little feet, and warm light filtering through the trees make this one of my favorite seasons to photograph. My Fall Wonderland Mini Sessions near Charlotte, NC take place at Latta Nature Preserve in Huntersville, where towering trees, wooded paths, and the natural landscape create a timeless setting for relaxed family photographs.

Of course, Mother Nature can be a little unpredictable here in Charlotte! Depending on the weather each year, fall may bring us golden foliage and freshly fallen leaves, trees just beginning to change, or a woodland that's still holding onto some of its green. When booking consecutive mini sessions, the four-person limit is raised to six. Fall Wonderland Minis are designed around natural interaction and storytelling, so smaller groups generally allow us to capture the greatest variety of candid moments within the mini-session timeframe.

Want a full hour? You can also book a one-hour family session and choose your preferred location during the customization process. If you love this setting, simply select Latta Nature Preserve to enjoy the same beautiful woodsy backdrop with significantly more time and flexibility.

Full sessions are especially recommended for larger families, extended or multi-generational families, multiple groupings, or anyone who wants a slower-paced experience with more variety.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Fall Wonderland Mini Sessions are pet-friendly, and your furry family members are welcome to join you.

Please bring dogs on a secure leash along with treats or a favorite toy if those help get their attention. Don't worry if your pup isn't interested in looking directly at the camera the entire time—some of my favorite photographs happen when they're simply interacting naturally with their family.

What happens if it rains?

Because these sessions take place outdoors, I will monitor the forecast closely as your session date approaches.

Sessions will continue as planned when conditions are safe and photographable, including overcast skies and typical cool fall weather. If rain, storms, or other weather conditions make it unsafe or unreasonable to photograph, Ash Nichole Photos will communicate the applicable weather plan and rescheduling options.

Please note that foliage conditions are separate from inclement weather. Sessions will not be rescheduled because leaves have not changed, have already fallen, or because the foliage differs from what was expected.

What happens if I or my child gets sick?

Mini session bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable by default, but you can add a Mini Session Protection Plan for extra peace of mind.

The Protection Plan allows you to reschedule your session once for qualifying circumstances such as illness or a family emergency, subject to the terms and availability outlined in the plan.

There is something about fall that makes us want to slow down. The crisp air, cozy layers, leaves crunching beneath little feet, and warm light filtering through the trees make this one of my favorite seasons to photograph. My Fall Wonderland Mini Sessions near Charlotte, NC take place at Latta Nature Preserve in Huntersville, where towering trees, wooded paths, and the natural landscape create a timeless setting for relaxed family photographs.

Of course, Mother Nature can be a little unpredictable here in Charlotte! Depending on the weather each year, fall may bring us golden foliage and freshly fallen leaves, trees just beginning to change, or a woodland that's still holding onto some of its green. That's exactly why I chose Latta Nature Preserve. The location is beautiful at every stage of the season, and paired with cozy fall clothing, warm tones, and the natural textures of the woods, your photographs will still have that unmistakable autumn feeling.

Because North Carolina foliage can vary from year to year, I specifically chose a location that photographs beautifully whether the trees are golden and colorful, beginning to change, or still holding onto some of their green.

Mother Nature can be unpredictable in North Carolina, and the timing and intensity of fall foliage can vary from year to year depending on temperatures, rainfall, storms, and other natural conditions.

That's exactly why Latta Nature Preserve was chosen for these sessions. The location offers a beautiful, versatile wooded setting that photographs well throughout the fall season. Depending on your session date and that year's foliage, we may have golden and colorful leaves, trees beginning to transition, fallen leaves on the ground, or a woodland that's still holding onto some of its green.

Paired with cozy fall clothing, warm tones, beautiful natural light, and the textures of the woods, your photographs will still have an unmistakable autumn feeling regardless of exactly where Mother Nature is in her transition.

Fall Wonderland Mini Sessions will not be rescheduled, refunded, or transferred solely because the leaves have not changed, have already fallen, or have not reached peak fall color. By booking, you are reserving the natural landscape as it appears on your scheduled session date.

Are the photographs shown on this page actually from Latta Nature Preserve?

Yes! The Fall Wonderland photographs featured on this page were photographed by Ash Nichole Photos at Latta Nature Preserve during last year's fall sessions.

These real photographs are included so you can see how I photograph this particular location and get a feel for the overall style and experience.

Because this is an outdoor location, the exact foliage, lighting, greenery, fallen leaves, and other natural elements will naturally vary from year to year—and even from one session date to another.

Can I book a longer session?

Absolutely! If you'd like a little more time while still enjoying the mini-session experience, families are welcome to reserve two back-to-back mini sessions.

When booking consecutive mini sessions, the four-person limit is raised to six. Fall Wonderland Minis are designed around natural interaction and storytelling, so smaller groups generally allow us to capture the greatest variety of candid moments within the mini-session timeframe.

Want a full hour? You can also book a one-hour family session and choose your preferred location during the customization process. If you love this setting, simply select Latta Nature Preserve to enjoy the same beautiful woodsy backdrop with significantly more time and flexibility.

Full sessions are especially recommended for larger families, extended or multi-generational families, multiple groupings, or anyone who wants a slower-paced experience with more variety.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Fall Wonderland Mini Sessions are pet-friendly, and your furry family members are welcome to join you.

Please bring dogs on a secure leash along with treats or a favorite toy if those help get their attention. Don't worry if your pup isn't interested in looking directly at the camera the entire time—some of my favorite photographs happen when they're simply interacting naturally with their family.

What happens if it rains?

Because these sessions take place outdoors, I will monitor the forecast closely as your session date approaches.

Sessions will continue as planned when conditions are safe and photographable, including overcast skies and typical cool fall weather. If rain, storms, or other weather conditions make it unsafe or unreasonable to photograph, Ash Nichole Photos will communicate the applicable weather plan and rescheduling options.

Please note that foliage conditions are separate from inclement weather. Sessions will not be rescheduled because leaves have not changed, have already fallen, or because the foliage differs from what was expected.

What happens if I or my child gets sick?

Mini session bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable by default, but you can add a Mini Session Protection Plan for extra peace of mind.

The Protection Plan allows you to reschedule your session once for qualifying circumstances such as illness or a family emergency, subject to the terms and availability outlined in the plan.

If you'd like this additional flexibility, simply add the Mini Session Protection Plan from the à la carte section during booking. The Protection Plan must be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added afterward.

You'll be able to review the complete Protection Plan terms, eligibility requirements, rescheduling window, and other stipulations before purchasing.

What happens if me or my child gets sick?

Because holiday mini sessions require venue reservations, staffing, and extensive preparation, all mini session bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable by default.

For added peace of mind, clients may purchase the Mini Session Protection Plan for $39 at the time of booking.

The Protection Plan allows you to reschedule your session up to the night before your scheduled session if an immediate family member participating in the session experiences:

• Illness or injury

• An unexpected medical circumstance

If a covered event occurs, your session may be transferred to another available mini session of equal value during the current Christmas season, subject to availability.

If all Christmas mini sessions are sold out, your session credit may instead be applied toward a future Ash Nichole Photos seasonal mini session event of equal value at Lake Norman during the following spring or summer season.

Please note:

• Protection Plans must be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added later.

How many digital images are included?

Mini sessions are designed as an affordable option for families who may only need a few special images for updated family portraits, holiday cards, gifts, or seasonal keepsakes. Each session includes two high-resolution digital images.

After viewing your gallery, additional images may be purchased.

Additional Image Pricing:

• Each additional image: $10

• Upgrade to 20 extra images: $100

Will there definitely be fall leaves?

Mother Nature can be unpredictable in North Carolina, and the timing and intensity of fall foliage can vary from year to year depending on temperatures, rainfall, storms, and other natural conditions.

That's exactly why Latta Nature Preserve was chosen for these sessions. The location offers a beautiful, versatile wooded setting that photographs well throughout the fall season. Depending on your session date and that year's foliage, we may have golden and colorful leaves, trees beginning to transition, fallen leaves on the ground, or a woodland that's still holding onto some of its green.

Paired with cozy fall clothing, warm tones, beautiful natural light, and the textures of the woods, your photographs will still have an unmistakable autumn feeling regardless of exactly where Mother Nature is in her transition.

Fall Wonderland Mini Sessions will not be rescheduled, refunded, or transferred solely because the leaves have not changed, have already fallen, or have not reached peak fall color. By booking, you are reserving the natural landscape as it appears on your scheduled session date.

Are the photographs shown on this page actually from Latta Nature Preserve?

Yes! The Fall Wonderland photographs featured on this page were photographed by Ash Nichole Photos at Latta Nature Preserve during last year's fall sessions.

These real photographs are included so you can see how I photograph this particular location and get a feel for the overall style and experience.

Because this is an outdoor location, the exact foliage, lighting, greenery, fallen leaves, and other natural elements will naturally vary from year to year—and even from one session date to another.

Can I book a longer session?

Absolutely! If you'd like a little more time while still enjoying the mini-session experience, families are welcome to reserve two back-to-back mini sessions.

When booking consecutive mini sessions, the four-person limit is raised to six. Fall Wonderland Minis are designed around natural interaction and storytelling, so smaller groups generally allow us to capture the greatest variety of candid moments within the mini-session timeframe.

Want a full hour? You can also book a one-hour family session and choose your preferred location during the customization process. If you love this setting, simply select Latta Nature Preserve to enjoy the same beautiful woodsy backdrop with significantly more time and flexibility.

Full sessions are especially recommended for larger families, extended or multi-generational families, multiple groupings, or anyone who wants a slower-paced experience with more variety.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Fall Wonderland Mini Sessions are pet-friendly, and your furry family members are welcome to join you.

Please bring dogs on a secure leash along with treats or a favorite toy if those help get their attention. Don't worry if your pup isn't interested in looking directly at the camera the entire time—some of my favorite photographs happen when they're simply interacting naturally with their family.

What happens if it rains?

Because these sessions take place outdoors, I will monitor the forecast closely as your session date approaches.

Sessions will continue as planned when conditions are safe and photographable, including overcast skies and typical cool fall weather. If rain, storms, or other weather conditions make it unsafe or unreasonable to photograph, Ash Nichole Photos will communicate the applicable weather plan and rescheduling options.

Please note that foliage conditions are separate from inclement weather. Sessions will not be rescheduled because leaves have not changed, have already fallen, or because the foliage differs from what was expected.

What happens if I or my child gets sick?

Mini session bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable by default, but you can add a Mini Session Protection Plan for extra peace of mind.

The Protection Plan allows you to reschedule your session once for qualifying circumstances such as illness or a family emergency, subject to the terms and availability outlined in the plan.

If you'd like this additional flexibility, simply add the Mini Session Protection Plan from the à la carte section during booking. The Protection Plan must be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added afterward.

You'll be able to review the complete Protection Plan terms, eligibility requirements, rescheduling window, and other stipulations before purchasing.

If a covered event occurs, your session may be transferred to another available mini session of equal value during the current Christmas season, subject to availability.

If all Christmas mini sessions are sold out, your session credit may instead be applied toward a future Ash Nichole Photos seasonal mini session event of equal value at Lake Norman during the following spring or summer season.

Please keep in mind that these Victorian Christmas Mini Sessions are designed to create artistic, lived-in, storytelling images filled with genuine interaction and connection rather than traditional standing-still family portraits.

Because these sessions are intentionally interactive, the more family members included, the more challenging it becomes to capture authentic candid moments. For added peace of mind, clients may purchase the Mini Session Protection Plan for $39 at the time of booking.

The Protection Plan allows you to reschedule your session up to the night before your scheduled session if an immediate family member participating in the session experiences:

• Illness or injury

• An unexpected medical circumstance

If a covered event occurs, your session may be transferred to another available mini session of equal value during the current Christmas season, subject to availability.

Yes. The images displayed on this page are actual photographs from previous 90s Christmas Mini Sessions and were taken in this exact setup.

While a few small decorative details may be updated or refreshed from year to year, the overall design, layout, color palette, and experience will remain substantially the same. Families booking this event can expect the same nostalgic 90s aesthetic and overall look showcased in the example images.

Can I book a longer session?

Absolutely. Families are welcome to reserve back-to-back mini sessions to create additional shooting time.

When booking consecutive sessions, the four-person limit is raised to six.

Please keep in mind that these mini sessions are designed to create artistic, lived-in, storytelling images filled with genuine interaction and connection rather than traditional standing-still family portraits.

Because these sessions are intentionally interactive, the more family members included, the more challenging it becomes to capture authentic candid moments. For the best experience and results, we recommend limiting participation to six people or fewer, with even smaller groupings getting the best results.

If your primary goal is a posed portrait of your entire extended family or a larger group, please contact us to discuss portrait session options that may be a better fit for your needs.
