Choosing When to Take Portraits | How Lighting Affects Your Photos

$19.99

When I first started photography, lighting was my biggest stressor. I struggled with keeping a consistent style when shooting in different types of lighting. Eventually, I became a golden hour only photographer and for a while that worked great for me. Unfortunately, it’s hard to make a living when there is only an hour window that you feel comfortable shooting in every day. Now, after a lot of trial and error, experimentation, and lots of deep breaths… I feel comfortable shooting all ALL hours of the day. Part of knowing how to do that, was learning the advantages and disadvantages of each lighting type. For instance, you can take some incredible photos during blue hour, but action shots are difficult to pull off due to how high you have to raise your shutter speed, thus darkening your image. With all this in mind, I decided to make a guide specifically about lighting for anyone who wants to take a deep dive into lighting types and all they have to offer.
